Subtest Comparisons Pairs of Subtests: reading comprehension & listening comprehension, & written expression and oral expression were developed to have similar formats to enable useful comparisons to be made between each pair of subtests. These comparisons help to distinguish specific problems in reading or writing from language problems. Additional Resources Pearson KTEA-3 PPTs and Video Manual and Scoring Workbook (especially for Written Expression) Sampling/Norms Info The grade norm sample included 2,600 examinees, while the age norm sample included 2,050 examinees. The KTEA-3 norm samples were based on the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey 2012. The samples were stratified according to age or grade, sex, parent education level (except for the norm samples for ages 19-25 where self education level was collected), ethnicity, geographic region, and special group designation. A proportion of students from various special groups was added to the normative samples to approximate the U.S.
